The one in 2009 is not a new season(well not continuing the previous plot).
It's just a remake..but instead of having an original plot, this one will follow the plot in manga.

it isn't fake!!! i was so happy in that day ... and i'm still so happy ... i hope that Romi Paku-sama and all the others will be there ... i can't see the characters with another voice!!!

Well...how should I say this. FMA is probably going to be continued. I don't read manga but I heard that there's an announcement in the 20th volume which says that they're working on Fullmetal 2 or smth. Most likely it isn't fake.

I need to start getting into the manga. I got into FMA last summer and I pretty much missed the original fandom. Great, now I'm depressed.
