The "on a break" remark? That's an old running gag in Friends. When Ross and Rachel were having troubles, Ross fell in love with another women and Rachel insists that he cheated on her but Ross insists that they were "on a break" and so it didn't count. It really upsets Rachel whenever anyone takes Ross's side of the argument.
