Awesome. I think one of the biggest differences from this acoustic version of Paranoid Android --as opposed to both the Radiohead original-- is how he separates the two "acts" of this song into two distinct movements, while the original is a bit more seamless. It's actually less evident in this version as it is in his "jazz band" equavalent version of this song from his 2002 album "Largo."

what does he do that makes most of his stuff sound more unusual than most compositions you hear. does he use a different mode(s) or something. from what I've heard him play, the notes that he uses together don't sound as naturally harmonic.

Jazz is a feeling, more than anything else. It isn't music, it's language and also emotion. Real jazz isint learnt from all the standards and all the jargon forms and scales. Its all that jargon put together in the most natural way that the musician can convey. if u get me, its really just vibrations - sound - music - feeling.

excellent, as all the brad mehldau covers. however, all the radiohead covers lack the atmosphere and darkness of the originals.
