Excellent song. It bugs when they re edit album versions. That bit at 3.08 onwards is the best part of the song.

Unfortunately, bands nowadays tend to 'sell-out,' no matter what their original vision was. A rare exception is Radiohead, and even they have the fifty million single versions, etc etc. Even the Catherine Wheel succumbed to this pressure, though they got out two great albums first at least.

It was almost 17 years ago that this came out. Brings back some fond memories for sure. It was an interesting time when modern rock was becoming "alternative", and the stuff was all new. Now, "alternative" bands seem to all want to rip off disco and sonic youth. Disco sucked the first time around, and well, leave sonic youth alone. Kids these days don't have a new music to turn to. Well, not unless it's played in local basements. This song was at the forefront of a HUGE movement in music.
