In general, that's happend. But in Ruroni Kenshin never animated the begin and end of the story in the original series (1997-1999). Only this animated in this OVAS Tsuioku Hen (begin Story) and Seiso Hen (end story) in 2003.

I honestly remeber reading somewhere how this was supposed to be a alternative telling of the time within the show and after, if I'm wrong please show me some proof, I'm not trying to say you're wrong, I just want to know myself, you know for certain. Because I do rember that Naruto OVA that came out and made naruto die, which never really happens, it was alternative story telling.

You wrong... This OVAS on Rurouni Kenshin are based in Original Story Manga write by the author.

Just to let you know, OVA's are not official to storylines. This is merely alternative history to the Ruroni Kenshin series.

i thought this was a great way to bring an end to an anime (u no when u fnish an anime u alwasy wondered wat happened) its a bittersweet ending to my all time fav anime that will always be my fav =D

Like Everytime i watch only this ending scene, i end up crying buckets over it. But honestly did he have to die.. Broke My Heart you know.. But at least he died a happy death in her presence... Best Anime Ever..

OMG they loved each other so much that she took Shinta's disease. That is true love and OMG I cried the whole episode. I can't believe it's over! Did Kaouru die too or just Kenshin (Shinta)? *Tear* :'-(
