newman was like 5 years older than mcqueen so there is where you get your "before" shit however steve had more hit big time movies than newman back in the day and was way cooler so they say...i actually like newman better i just state these facts cause im smart

Wait a sec Hotshot, Newman was a leading man before McQueen. 1956 "Somebody Up There Likes Me" Top Billing! McQueen had like 5 or 6 lines in the film, real bit part. He broke through as a leading man well after The Magnificent Seven. 1960. Sure I guess McQeen was a bigger star. But I wouldn't just judge that by him getting top billing in "TOWER" but it's not safe to say he was working more the Newman. BE NICE TO PEOPLE U POMOUS BULLY.

Yeah I guess you're right. Ego wasn't really the reason why Newman had more roles than McQueen. McQueen just did less movies than Newman. After all, McQueen spent a lot of time doing motor sports in the 1970's. McQueen is a wonderful actor and one of my top 3 faves. Rest in Peace Steve.

the Hunter, Tom Horn, The Towering Inferno, Papillion, The Getaway, Junior Bonner, Bullitt, The Thomas Crown Affair, The sand Pebbles, Nevada Smith, The Cincinnati Kid, THE GREAT ESCAPE, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, The Blob... this all BEFORE 1980 cause he fuckin died,,up to this point he was a BIGGER STAR than PAUL NEWMAN you were saying................? i love paul but think before you type..there was a reason steve wanted top billing he was the bigger star at the time fruitcake

One of the best scenes in any movie, along with a great song. Katharine Ross was banned from the set by George Roy Hill & was not allowed on unless she was in a scene as she was going with the photographer, Conrad Hall, who let her play around with the cameras (or something like that). She said that any day was a good day as long as George wasn't around. Anyway, this is one of my all-time favorite movies. Can't be Newman & Redford!
