Oh - I didn't know that was what was going on. I knew that Bette couldn't stand Hopkins. I'm sure she enjoyed that shake scene immensely !! Great scene - I think Bette is probably the best actress of them all !

Mariam hopkins was IN LOVE with bette and when bette turned her down mariam would pull tricks in order to'steal scenes' when they acted together. By this movie bette was FED UP with her and said that it took 'everything in her being' to not kill her during the 'shake' scene. The had to redo that scene 9 times!!!

Sometimes the only thing a woman needs is a glass of champagne!!!! Bette is the BEST!
